MUSICAL THEATRE CLASSES FOR KIDS (Age 7-12)

MUSICAL THEATRE CLASSES - FALL 2023 TERM 1 DETAILS
LOCATION: RONCESVALLES UNITED CHURCH (240 RONCESVALLES AVE.)

After School Pick Up Available from Garden Avenue School and Fern Avenue School for $80 a Term
COST: $545 (17 week course) - includes HST

Tuesday Musical Theatre (8 - 12 years old) Starts Feb 13th 2023 (17 weeks): Time: 4:00 - 5:30 PM

Thursday Musical Theatre (7 - 12 years old) Starts Feb 15th 2023 (17 weeks): Time: 4:00 - 5:30 PM

Little Red Theatre's After-school Musical Theatre is an inclusive and consent forward program designed to give kids the opportunity to build confidence while learning to sing, dance, and act in a fun, supportive, non-competitive environment. Learn useful life skills like working together, thinking on the fly, public speaking, and body awareness all while building a musical theatre show and forming friendships that last a lifetime.

ACTING 101 (NEW CLASS) 17 Week Course (Ages 7-12)

After School Pick Up Available from Garden Avenue School and Fern Avenue School for $80 a Term
COST: $415 (17 week course) - includes HST

Mondays - Roncesvalles United Church - Starts Feb 12th 2024: 4pm - 5pm

This course is specially designed for those students who want to explore drama without the pressure of a performance. We will play drama games, explore acting technique for stage and on film and creative script writing. The course will end in a stress free open class where parents can join us to share in some of our creations this term.

**A great addition to the musical theatre course for students who want to focus solely on acting.**

SONGWRITING (17 Week Course) - Age 10+ 

Cost: $415 - 17 weeks (HST incl)

Thursdays -  Roncesvalles United Church, Starts Feb 15th 2024 - 6pm - 7pm - Cost: $415 (HST incl)

Students meet weekly to learn guitar, vocal and songwriting practices for this 17 week course. Students will learn beginner chords and rhythms, vocal techniques, poetry, and how to express themselves and their ideas with confidence, all in a supportive and collaborative  group environment . Culminates in a songwriter circle-style sharing at the end of term. All students will leave with a professionally recorded original song.

IMPROV (Ages 8-11 and 12-15)

Level 1 - Thursdays (5:30pm-6:30pm) at Roncesvalles United Church

Level 2 - Thursdays (6:30pm-7:30pm) at Roncesvalles United Church

FALL TERM 1 WILL START FEB 15th 2024

Students meet weekly to learn improvisational comedy and basic acting skills for this 17 week course. Students will learn to think on their feet, work with a team, and speak with confidence through improv-based theatre games and short comedic scenes.

Culminates in a revue-style improv/sketch comedy show at the end of term.

COST: $415 - 17 week course (Includes HST)

ENSEMBLE - TEEN CLASS (Age - Grade 7+) 

Mondays - Roncesvalles United Church, 530pm - 730pm - Starts Feb 12th 2024

Cost: $545 (HST incl.)

Our Teen Program is designed to give teenagers the opportunity to celebrate their unique selves. Students will delve deeper into the world of live performance and musical theatre by tackling more mature shows with challenging arrangements and complex characters. The students will focus on theatre as a vehicle for social change and apply their artistic voice in both the development of new work and adaptations of existing works. These artist’s will develop tools to portray nuanced emotional depth on stage while working in an inclusive and consent-forward environment.  The course ends with a public performance by THE ENSEMBLE.
